Wassup DOC?!?

Dr. Insidemamind

That's what you will call me once I get through the innumerable Medical Entrance exams that I have applied so far ...

Or perhaps not!

Sadly, it isn't easy to become a doctor as I had thought it to be... It takes a lot of patience, hard work and preserverence to wear that white coat and add a Dr. prefix to your name.

It is so easy to announce that you want to be a DOCTOR ... but it's equally difficult to get into a medical college in first place.

After coming to India, I have learnt there if you really want to be a DOC, you will need to adopt anyone of the following ways:

1. The EASY way:

Pay 15-30 lakhs and get yourself admitted in a reputed medical college.

2. The HARD way:

Study, Slog and Suffer .... Be sincere in your studies and answer lots and lots of entrance exams till you finally get through any one of them.

My parents have chosen the second option. And believe me, I feel totally exhausted and hopeless. It's like a trial and error method.

So far I have answered only one entrance exams. There are still more exams yet to go until May. So I am preparing for all of them.

Believe me, it's not such an easy task..

The other day, I wanted to get my photo attested by a Gazette officer for an application form. I just wanted a mere stamp and a sign on the photo.. For that the officer took us for a 2 hour ride in his office. He made us to go from one desk to another - all for an ATTESTATION!

If that's not enough... I wanted an identification letter for a very reputed medical college in India. Instead I was asked to change my faith (with respect to my religion) by some people who are authorised to issue this identification letter.

Strange... So I have lost out on one college so far...
