Finally in India...

Well I am in India already... Hardly any days have passed but I am missing home already. I ended up crying this morning after keeping all the frustrations to myself all this while.

I am having a huge "ADJUSTMENT" problem in India. I was supposed to go for my coaching classes today. But I have bunked it....

My parents have decided to take me out... and so here I am near the Delhi Main station in a shabby, damn hot internet cafe!!

Here is a brief synopsis of my trip to Delhi and my days spent here so far....

1. On the aeroplane:

Believe it or not - I haven't been to INDIA for the past 7 years and I have not been on an aeroplane too...

On the flight from my "HOME" - Bombay - Delhi, I had a pretty tough time.. I had all kinds of problems ranging from NAUSEA, PALPITATION, SWEATING, HEADACHE, BLOCKED EARS, BREATHING PROBLEMS... and what not! Only thing missing was a HEART ATTACK!

The thing is that ever since the Sept 11 attacks, I have been terribly scared of crashing planes.

I didn't sleep at all during the 10 hour long journey! So you can just imagine...

The worst thing was that my seat was next to the emergency door of the plane... To add to all my sorrows, the pilot even came over to tell us HOW TO OPEN THE DOOR INCASE OF AN EMERGENCY...

I HATE PILOTS!!!!

2. In Delhi....

Boy! I was glad to get out of the plane....

I was really shocked to come out of Delhi airport... As soon as we came out, we were greeted by a very pathetic crowd!!

Indira Gandhi International Airport is supposed to be an International airport but it lacked international standards!!!! This is sooo shocking!

3. The Coaching classes...

After the 10 hour long journey, my mom forced me to answer a test on the first day itself at the coaching class.
We landed in India on the next day of my last examination. I didn't get a chance to have my well-deserved break!!

4. Life in Delhi

Delhi is good in pieces... But when you club the whole thing together, you have nothing nice to say at all about Delhi..

The things I like about Delhi are :

  • The good looking guys : All of them are good-looking... even the waiters look cute :p
  • Touristic places : They are simply breath-taking!
  • Metro station - Delhi should be proud to have such facilities ....
  • Most of the vehicles run on CNG
  • You can move freely on the streets
  • Bhel-Puri and the Biryani
  • Friendly people - they are quite rare!

The things I hate about Delhi are :

  • There are too many suspicious people and mosquitoes
  • Cows and dogs move freely .... Some of them simply stand in the middle of the road and block the traffic
  • Disorder and confusion on the Road!
  • Too much use of horns on the road!
  • People urinated wherever they feel like..
  • People spit on the road... It's sick and unhygenic..
  • Too crowded and polluted in some areas

That's all for now.. But yes - I do have a piece of advice for everyone reading my blog...

Please do not spoil the beauty of our motherland by spitting and pissing wherever you feel like... Remember, this is your country.. You are not in some foreign land. Love it with all your heart and care for it like as if it were your mother.

Delhi is a beautiful place... If you really want your place to be clean, learn to keep it clean first!!! Don't expect someone else to keep it clean!!

And the concerned authories in Delhi, should look into the traffic problems and proper driving ethiquettes of the people. The people in vehicles are always in a hurry to go somewhere.. Like as if they have a race to win! Wearing a helmet is simply not enough, drivers must learn the basic ethiquettes in order to ensure proper and safe driving.

These problems are common to every state in India. So this message is not meant for Delhi alone!

That's all from me... I will be back soon!

This is Insidemamind - signing off for now!

Men will never change

The International Women's Day was celebrated weeks ago. It's kind of a stale news but then I would like to share with you all anyway...

My parents had recently subscribed to Times of India to keep a track of all the news and events in India.

The Bombay Times, dated March 9 2006, had published an interview of Riteish Deshmukh and AFTAB SHIVDASANI... about their views on Women's day

Riteish ko maaro goli ... I am emphasizing on AFTAB!! Who doesn't know about my undying love for AFTAB! If you didn't know about it, then listen - I will always be faithful to AFTAB no matter how many guys enter and leave my life .Promise.

So there I was with the copy of Bombay Times in my hand. I was on top of the world when I saw Aftab's interview... And I began reading it.....

The interview read as follows..

Q. IT'S A MAN'S WORLD.... TRUE OR FALSE?

AFTAB : Unfortunately true. But I believe in gender equality.

Now this is what I call a true man! A man will always believe that this is not a man's world alone

Q. IF YOU WERE A WOMAN, YOU'D LIKE TO BE.....?

AFTAB : My future wife... that way I'd know what's going in her head.

Awwww! That's chooooo chweeet! Which guy could ever think about that? By the way is he hinting at me....

Q. Your description of an ideal woman, would be...?

AFTAB : A woman with a simple mind, a good human being and someone who loves me alot.

I have a simple mind. I am a good human being except for some minor flaws. I love him a lot. Is he talking about me?

Q. What in a woman turns you on?

AFTAB : Simplicity.

Damn! He is talking about me!!!!! Yes - I bet you - he is talking ONLY about me. I possess all the qualities that he is searching for.. I tell you, he can't be talking about any girl other than me.

Q. What turns you off?

AFTAB : Attitude and arrogance.

Hmm... I only show attitude and arrogance to strangers who are suspicious. But that doesn't mean I am bad...

Q. The woman you admire....

AFTAB : Yana Gupta... I've got my reasons.

Arey! What is Yana Gupta doing here? He is supposed to be talking about me right..?!? From where did she come?

Men... they are so complex and so confusing. They take us females for a ride when all the way they have something else up on their mind.

If you happen to meet AFTAB by any chance, just tell him that there is someone called INSIDEMAMIND crazy about him. He should either choose YANA or ME!

Exam Fever

For all those who have been wondering where I have been and why haven't I posted anything new so far.. Well - my Board exams are on!!

Yes! I have just finished answering three papers. There are just two papers left - Chemistry and Informatics Practices. They are my favourite subjects besides Physics!

My exams will be over by 22 March 2005. And after that I will be flying to India the next day.

I just can't believe this.. I wanted to spend some few more days here before coming down to India for good. It's been years since I set my foot on the Indian soil. I know it will hard for me to adjust there in the beginning but India is the best place to complete your higher education.

My first stop in India is going to be at Delhi. I will be there for few weeks in order to do my entrance coaching.

This all sounds like a nightmare. I wonder why my parents couldn't book my flight for the first week of April.

Sob!!!

Anyway - do comment on the look of my blog. I installed Haloscan comments for the time being. I will be soon replacing it with another commenting script that can be hosted on another server.

I also installed Metempsychosis Comments hack so that people can post their comments on individual entries too.
